I decided to finally pull the trigger on a sxs. I need to get a bigger trailer and was wandering if the Lowe’s and tractor supply trailers are good enough. I’m not planning to haul it long distances but need something I can move it around when needed. Their 5x10’s are around $1500. Any advise is appreciated.

I can’t say about the T.S/ Lowes trailers, but I have one that was made by Gator Made down here in Somerset. It’s been a good trailer so far, (Had it for over 10 years). There is a place just North of Somerset called Keller trailer sales, (606) 423-2602 that sells utility trailers, Campers and that sort of thing and that’s where I bought it. They have slightly used trailers sometime too. Might be worth a call to see what they have. Also, there is a guy here local that runs a weld shop, he does good work, and He makes some along; I can check his prices if you want me to.

They may be okay. I personally always felt you get a better trailer as far as quality, weight capacity and such going with a custom manufacturer like gatormade, lawrimore or someone like that.
Four Winds trailer sales in Bowling Green has a 5x10 Lawrimore with gate for $1599.

i had a gator made for years. just bought another one 6 months ago a little bigger. i have no complaints. they good trailers.

We have one of the Gatormade ones that we have had for several years, it has a spring assisted gate which is really nice particularly for the wife when she uses it. We bought ours directly from Gatormade and we have had no complaints with it. At the time you could get a price break by buying at the factory, I don’t know if they still do that or not.

i put a spring assist on mine. mine is a 12 foot trailer and the gate is very heavy.
mine is called a Gorilla Lift. easy to install.

You might want to check with Truck Bed and Trailer Sales in Gray, KY (Knox Co.). We have purchased multiple trailers from them for the Extension office and are happy with the product. Much better pricing than some others. You can find them online.

Wow that is good pricing Stacy.
I’ll check that out too. My old trailer is super heavy and my truck drinks the gas pulling it.
