Anyone have a suggestion for a pair of deer hunting boots that your wife WILL NOT get cold feet ? We found out it’s a lot colder up in an tower stand with the wind blowing beneath your feet last year. Cold or wet feet dampen spirits quickly.
Well to be honest I wear wool socks and oiled leather when it’s not wet. Down below zero cause if I sweat (witch I do easy) I’m cold
Then there my lacrosse insulated hip boots and there really warm of corse prolly not good deer hunting boots.
But…I bought me some insulated dryashods a couple years ago there the warmest most comfortable rubber boots I’ve ever owned and I walk in them allot there very good for cold weather too. They make allot of different models so you can find something that suits you good and they make woman’s may look at them. They have a 1 year replacement warranty on seams and such too.
Colt
About the warmest boots I ever used was the US Military " Bunny Boots"! Sportsmans Guide used to sell a bunch. I don’t know if you can still get them or not, but if you can, the white ones are actually warmer than the black ones. Either one is good though!
Oh and I forgot I have a pair of artic king by lacrosse they are super warm rated for 50 below. I forgot about um cause I don’t get to use them but a few weeks a year there water proof too cause there a duck boot style
Yes I’m going to get her something to end the cold feet. I sat in there with her with my Mucks on and my feet got cold too. She’d sit there from daylight to dark if she didn’t get cold.
You might find an old carpet, or rug to put down in there too. I bet that , and a good pair of insulated boots will make it better! Hope you find something that makes it better for her!
Don’t know if this is an option in your blind
But I’ve used a Buddy Heater and it really helps
I’ve turned it off and on when needed
One place I trap on has built tower blinds better than a house
40 gallon propane tank below the blind
On DA boots can’t help on that I wear Muck boots
I bet she would like a Buddy Heater
I put a little heater in there. It kept her warm enough but feet got cold. I have a carpet on floor but I guess not enough. This blind is high on a ridge top and wind blows about all the time. I could have gotten her out of the wind but where it’s at she gets to see all around her for hundreds of yards. I vowed to keep her warmer this year. We have one particular turkey blind on our lease and it’s in a similar high spot. It’ll freeze you to death some days,
I’m assuming this is a box type shooting blind. If so you can get a sheet of thick foam insulation at the building supply places and put on the floor then put the carpet on top of that, put it on the walls and roof as well and with that buddy heater she will be able to hunt in her shirt sleeves and be toasty warm.
But to directly answer your question those insulated boot blankets that you put on over your boots when you get in the stand work really well. Also putting a piece of the closed cell foam like the backpacking sleeping pads are made of where you are putting your feet makes a big difference as well.
Hot hands makes feet warmers. I don’t have any complaints about them
Have you tried the gortex booties
You might try insulating the floor. Even bubble wrap would help
I’ve thought about the floor. I think that’d help. She’s getting a pair of those battery powered heat socks.
