I’ve seen a lot of Black widow spiders in my day
But never seen one what I call aggressive
Until this morning
My son left a pop up blind up
He couldn’t get back to it after Turkey season
Hay got up and it/ we just got off the radar
This morning I started Bush Hogging and made a point to get to it
Got the pegs out holding the blind it was sunk in some from rain water
I started to move it next thing I knew this big Black widow started coming across the top
At me
I took a tent peg and got lucky and brushed it off
Never have I seen one come out like that and towards me
I’m wondering now if there was a nest in there
Put it in a pile for another day
Should have taken a picture but I was Hot

We have allot of them around hear. I have seen them come your direction before could be the heat making them very active. I know turtles are much more aggressive when the water warms up .I’ve had 3 or 4 big uns the last week really try to get me. I don’t think it makes them madder just gives them allot more energy to feel like fighting.

I agree with you Colt! Heat makes stinging/biting insects more aggressive ! And it doesn’t improve the attitude of Women ,kids , or snakes either! As a matter of fact, a guy I know got copperhead bit today, and they flew him to Lexington for treatment!
