I can’t get Trapping on my mind right now. It’s just too warm to me. It’s too warm to deer hunt too. I’m hoping after I get my hands on a deer or two and it turns cold next weekend I’ll get the fever.
I can’t really get my head around it either.
I’m in that awkward time of year trapping ain’t started but I don’t have a buck tag, and on top of that it’s warm. I’m sick of planning I want to start!
Thank im gonna do some calling again this year I really want to rat and mink trap but I don’t have enough of either one to worry about.
So I Thank ill start on otter right away!

This light rain and looking at the river has kinda getting me started! I stopped by my buddy’s house today in West Virginia. He has five coons on the stretchers ! Their season started November 4 I think
How’d the coons look?
Not prime, he does an excellent job on them though! He is 75 and told me he needs both knee replacements but still trapping
If he’s enjoying his line good for him. I bet he could never imagine people catching them and wasting. I think I’m going to reserve on my schedule at least through next weekend to sit in the deer stand. Not crazy about even firing on one when it’s this warm but Stacey and I agreed if we got one we’d bring it straight in, quartered and in the fridge.
This long of a warm spell is sure enough odd for November! I’m kicking around the notion of combining fishing with deer hunting this time. At least until it cools down. I think the odds are pretty good that the deer will be coming down to the lake to drink and cool down each day for a while. Maybe I can pickup a fish or two by trolling as I paddle around looking for deer action!
I think I’ll set a few water sets
Tug river is really low,
It is awful warm still.I usually start once I get a couple deer down. How long take takes varies from year to year.I do have one doe in the freezer from muzzleloader season.Probably go after coyotes but I hope they sell a little higher this year.
Any thoughts on coyote prices this year?.
I heard about like last year on most things. Beaver down 25%. Rats 2-3.00. Otter and cats similar. It’s four months until the sale. Who really knows what the market will be for sure? I’m going to have fun and try for a mixed catch more.
My UTV trailer has been on a flat, rusted through rim, all summer and I got it replaced today so I guess in my mind I’m planning on trapping a bit anyway. Im Mobil now.
