Always had this fear

I just knew one day I’d reach in a nesting box
And a big old Snake be in it

I’ve felt around many times after dark to gather eggs

Well went in yesterday and my fears came true

I’ve reached in and out my hand on those chicken snakes. Had one eating eggs I couldn’t get up with. I put a couple of wooden nest eggs in the nest and never had any more trouble. I figure he died somewhere with a big double knot in his tail.

Now that’s funny

did I tell ya I hate snakes

About a month ago I was working in my fur shed and a big black snake came out from the edge of the window sill about a foot from me and he was 2/3 out the way out before I seen him. I caught him and released him outside so no mice in my fur shed.

Y’all giving me the willy’s…

I have those chicken snakes ( eastern hognose) in my trapping shed every year. I’ll find a couple of peeled skins. Until one bites me I’m going to leave them alone because they catch the flying squirrels that homestead in there.

They don’t bother me. Long as they ain’t poison, if I didn’t have a youngan and dogs I wouldn’t worry about them neither.

My Grandkids always wanna go in there and get the eggs when there around

I have to lift em up so they can reach em

I like having black snakes aroung to clear the mice out.I dont really like them but to clean the mice out,I’ll suffer

I went down to shed to get some beaver hoops to donate to TFTA the other day and a chicken snake was intertwined with them. Had to go back later and get.

They can shake a person for a bit
I’m fine with a snake as long as I see em first
