Id rather blind set but I have to say lured beaver sets on the river are more productive what are some food lures you e had success with.
I’ve used two of Locklear’s for years that have been good looking for.others to try.

I was told by a fellow Ky trapper he really likes Dobbins Beaver Plus.
there’s a couple commercial ones that Im familiar with, woodchipper and Bob Jamesons food lure., Three Rivers I think its called… Both are real good. I think a good food lure is way overlooked by beaver trappers. I mean food lures with no castor at all…
I’ve been working on one for a little while now, it has a base of poplar bud oil with some other stuff. Im putting it out on trail Cams now to see how it works late spring and summer…
I like food lures in a fake slide set with a piece or two of fresh bait like poplar… Woeks real well for a change up
That’s my go to fall set on the river until the spring then I use castor.

I really like Bob Wilson’s Green Beaver Lure. It has castor in it but it’s got something else like poplar oils and something that resembles fish scales although I’m pretty sure it is not. It’s different, and smells awesome. Had lots of luck with it.
I think Bob Wilson’s has Old Spice after shave in it. That’s what it smells like to me. I’ve caught one or two beaver on just straight poplar bud oil.
I used straight popular bud oil allot at one point but it’s got quite a bit more expensive.
Or maybe I used to much
