Any expert mink trappers that could give me some advice to catch a mink that’s eating my chickens? I’ve tried a live trap with dead chicken in the back tied off. I’ve put some 110 covering holes that he made. Then he just goes a dig himself another hole. Any advice is appreciated
No expert here. If there is heavy cover/woods near the coop, they’ll generally use the same trails approaching/leaving. May be easier to catch them away from it.
You could try hardware clothing the bottom and restricting his access. Blind sets along the coop may be good for when it is trying to find a place to dig. Build a little “tunnel” for it along the coop.
Hope you get it.
I used to catch them along my mamaw’s chicken fence by laying something like a board against the fence to make a short tunnel and cover the traps lightly with feathers or fine dry chicken liter.
