I hope to build a few this summer. The nice, compact ones with a treadle inside are the nicest, and hardest to build. I think I’ll make mine simpler and old school with the pivoting stick trigger on top. These were the types I had as a kid. I will make them smaller though. Back when I was a kid I used 10 inch lumber and they very frequently caught possums and they stink the trap up. I will always say a box trap is the best thing to give to a kid that’s interested in trapping.
