I enjoy doing it but I seem to get them SLIGHTLY out of line. Not enough for bull dozing beaver but I need to correct it on cat snares. I don’t know if I’m doing it when loading or getting the reverse bend on the end slightly twisted. I need a mentor.
I’ve never used a snare ! Lol
When you get old they start looking better and better
I may have to try some because I am old!
I snared several beavers this past year. If I make the trip out west in November I plan on taking a lot of them for cats. A snared bobcat still makes me grin like a submerged mink or otter.
What size cable do you prefer for cats?
It’s likely when your loading it. That’s how I corkscrew them. I tune it out with my lock but just start slower on your loading.
I am not and expert snares builder but I sure have messed up a bunch of cable when loading snares.
Colt
It’s when I reverse bend that makes mine off kilter. I have to straighten and re-bend a time or two to get them right.
I’m going to make them out of 1/16 1x19 cable.
Thank you good to know
