I’ve got one set out one.
If the wind quiets sometime this week so I can run way down the river,I plan to get a few more out. I like this cold for mink and cats.
Will be out looking for ducks a well.
This morning I was up at 4am tying hoops.in a new net.
Spent yesterday setting an otter location with Ryan on hear he’s helping me out and I’m helping him then I went up the river a short piece and dug a net outta a pile of leaves on the river bottom.
Spent the evening getting some stuff together and I built a couple dozen new fish sticks for when this weather breaks.

Well I would but…the wind and my extra light 50 year old boat dose not handle it the best. The worst part is that the pool I live on and trap is around the east side of the horn I call it it’s called the devil’s elbow cause it was bad for log jams well after that couple bends it turns almost dead north east and when the wind comes outta the south or south west it gets rough. During 30 mile and hour winds I’ve seen it rolling waves 3’ tall soooo I always back off my big stuff when I know there’s a gale coming.
I keep some stuff close to home but don’t venture real far.
Know if it was summer it don’t bother me as much but in 20 degree weather and the water in the upper 30s I don’t care to get killed over a 4 dollar coon.
Even with a life jacket on you ain’t gonna last long in the water in this weather.
I’ve got some pet stuff I’m gonna set in a day or two.

I ran mine early this morning! My blue heeler , Gus went with me! Snow was flying and cold! Didn’t catch anything but enjoyed the time out in God’s creation! Gus wore his carhartt vest

Me too! … I recently threw away a 25 year old pair of coveralls that had basically rotted away from the cuffs, to about 10" up my legs! I probably would have kept them, but my Wife has been trying hard to get me to improve my image for some time now! LOL!

I checked mine this morning didn’t have nothing so I went and set 10 more after church gonna put some cat sets in tomorrow if the weather permits but I did pick up a buck mink off the road on the way home so all was not lost

Steve my hat’s off to you I just put up a couple beaver and skinned a coon and I was good but yesterday I was in the building skinning 6 beaver at 2:30 and done in time for a pot of coffee.
