If I remember right, a couple of guys in the group got drawn for an Elk hunt this year. Anyone got any follow up stories?
I have not been yet ! Finally got a place going to hunt the December archery season

Back a few years ago, the Wife and I went on an Elk observation weekend over in the Mountains. We saw Elk here and there, but the place that had the most was next to an air port ,in I believe Martin Co. if I’m remembering right. It looked like a feed lot out West there was so many Elk!
Good luck to you in December! Oh, and don’t be afraid to put multiple shots into them if you can ! … They are tough! And after you get one down, get them field dressed as soon as possible, as they hold heat a lot more so than a deer! …You will like Elk meat!
Yeah I’ve heard guys say on the big bulls you can loose hind quarters in 40 degree weather if you don’t block them out and get the hair off.
