Put out a couple of blind sets yesterday to snag a couple of beaver. Of course the creek rose a couple of feet, I found myself crossing with just a couple of inches to spare on the chest waders. Both sets connected, one XL beaver and one big buck otter. The trip back across was even more fun.
What all can I collect from the otter to make a good cat lure?

About the only thing on an otter for lure are the glands. I mix them in,I never have many, with cat gland, which I never have many either. It makes a unique gland smell that seems to hold some interest with otters, cats and canines. That musky brown otter gland juice sure has staying power and an odd smell.
Thank you for that. I am going to try and make some with it. I had forgotten what they had smelled like.
