Fish fry grease

I recall reading in hawbakers book that the grease from frying fish is very attractive to many furbearers. I also learned that long john silvers cooks in lard. Gonna get a bunch of thier waste grease that fried all that fish shrimp and clams. Anyone ever try this? Used some fishy lard last season late in bucket sets, pulled some nice big coons with it.

I had a friend that managed a Long John Silvers that saved me some grease. It worked pretty good on coons and coyotes.

I don’t know. It’s gets very stiff when cold. I’d say if a man melted it and poured in some kitchen cooking oil it’d set up thinner and more usable. It’s water proof and stays in a dirt hole a long time. Bacon grease added might be better.

Well its worth a try.

You could do worse. Try a few test holes this summer and see if you get any digging.

I use used cooking oil I save it from everything I ain’t gonna reuse my self.
I keep an empty under the sink with a funnel and just pour it up.
A gallon goes a long way and it’s versatile.
You can add a half oz of cherry oil to one gallon and the whole gallon smells like cherry oil cooking grease.
