Fur sale was a success

I’d like to thank everyone that came out to help make this sale a great one. I believe we are gonna grow by size and members at each sale. I was stopped by a few of the big buyers and told we are consistently having the best sale in eastern USA. With that being said we should be very proud of what we are accomplishing. Again thanks everyone for the hard work. I have big plans for our future as a club.

We’ve tried several routes for helping our members sell their fur and this way is the most enjoyable as a club. Our averages were very close to the Fur Harvesters auction this week except maybe cats.
We also distribute lot numbers in a good, fair way. If you are a member and will be by sale time in March you can draw a number. We usually do 1-50. After the meet Brandon “ accordions” or compresses them down to 1-22, if 22 drew numbers. Then, if you are a member and didn’t attend the fall meet you can call March 1-10 and get a number drawn starting immediately following the last number drawn at the fall meet. We always have a few numbers that either don’t show up or bring fur. In that case we go to the next number in order. You will not show up on sale day, join and be moved in front of anyone else that has done things correctly. You will be at the end of the sale in the order you join. This being said, it is beneficial to be and stay a member in good standing with UTK. We welcome new trappers to join but we don’t have room for complainers or troublemakers. I saw several new guys at the sale and talked with a few. We have a great group and will keep it that way.

BTW I think we may have had 16 new members join at the sale. Steve May correct me.

Am I missing something? Did you publish the results?

I’m impressed. Things are looking better.

Sorry, I didn’t see the other post where the results were listed.

Was there only one deer hide for sale and it sold or were there a bunch and only one was bought?

Was there anything special about it and is there a market for it at the sale? Thanks

Also are any of the furs sold tanned or are they all just stretched?

It’s usually all raw fur at a sale. We had a buyer that brought tanned stuff for sale and some nice fur hats were there.
