I think it’d be adequate for elk. I had one years ago and traded it off.
Looks like a really nice Rifle! A .308 will take down anything on the North American Continent as long as shots are within about 250 yards or so. And that’s talking about power level; a good shot with a solid rest can hit the vitals on most game another 100 yards or more away in real World conditions.

That is a fine choice, I have the same rifle in 223/5.56 and it will keep 5 shots under an inch at 100 with just run of the mill ammo. I really like it.
A really good choice the 308 is a very versatile round.

Looks like it could sale some tickets.
I believe we’ll have a .410 turkey gun and a .22 mag pistol too.

We were going to get a .243 but it didn’t come in that caliber.

You did good! I would be proud to own it, and a .308 is an excellent all around big game caliber!

The 308 is a much better choice anyway, the 243 really doesn’t do well in those short barrels it loses too much velocity.

We’re still looking and trying to get one. Should have it in a couple weeks. Lots of oddball calibers available but no .308 easily found.
