Spent the day deer scouting for next year never can be too ready!
But I’ve been getting ready to trap got the last of my bait made and all my stuff sorted and laid out to load.
The other day I went through my DPS with a flash light and made sure they all had rubber on the dog something I’m guilty of neglecting.
Gonna replace a rivet or two in my boat clean out the leaves and fishing stuff charge my battery and stock up on gas.
Then all I’ll have left is chop up some bait and load the boat.
I was just thanking earlier you can’t never be too ready or too early.
I’m making moves today for 6 months down the road.
What have you guys been up too.

You are a man on a mission colt.
I am trapping public and excited for the hard work of going on foot. Got 36 traps prepped and plan to set them all. 2 weeks off from work and determined to get some! I finally have a garage. This is my year!
This is the setup I’ve been getting ready. Probably overkill but just like anything, you get out of it what you put into it. Separated all my baits and lures and urines into smaller bottles to condense space, then put them in a big ammo can to keep the smell in. Been workin on something and running out to get stuff every lunch and evening this week. Honestly a bit stressed out my girl had to tell me to relax.
I have been laying corn out every few weeks at a buddies in Grayson. Got a hitch on the suby with a grate rack to put the deer on.
This picture is 80lb but I just dropped 160 on Monday. Hope it’s still there on Saturday. Wish me luck and good luck to you all.
Looks like you have been putting plenty of work in your self.
My wife is from Grayson her grandparents live just south of town.
Should find you a couple deer there
Good luck

I have not done any of the things you guys that are relatively young have done! But you do have me thinking that if I do get to do any trapping, or deer hunting this time, I am going to call upon a young, gung ho guy or two to drag or carry my stuff out of the field for me! LOL! Enjoy these days while you can; because there are way too few of them for a guy over the course of a lifetime!
Yes by the time we have attained a little knowledge that same amount of time steals away your youth and enthusiasm, I guess it’s life’s balance. Leon is one of the few, and Larry Burton that have the same fire as a teenager.
When I grow up, I want to be just like the two of them!
I talked to Leon a few hours ago and he got me fired up. He has some good places lined up to trap.
