Has any of you had any luck with a 220
In a square bucket set ?
I normally set on sign
But in this case I know there in this pool of water
I can only trap one side of the creek
Just a curious question

I’ve never caught one in a bucket but who knows.I’m usually blind setting
I know I’m just trying to think out of normal
Rock cubby’s work half submerged. I like a good sour fish for bait. But they wise up quick and stop hitting them.

Hmmm. Now that’s an idea
Plenty of rocks
Yeah I’ve caught them in rock cubbies with 160s 220s 180s and 330s. Footholds would work to I like fish carcases and they do better when there strong smelling. Good shot of crawdad or fish oil helps too.
Like I said they wise up to them so set heavy first time around. Footholds would work to and prolly catch for a longer period of time.

I’m gonna give it a go this weekend
Those pictures really help Thanks
I’m hoping for sign of a slide or something to go by this gives me new ideas
Better than a spooky bucket
I’ll save them for coons
I have used the square plastic buckets and have caught otters. I use the bucket with notches cut out on the sides for the springs of a 220. I set the bucket up against the bank in the water about 3" or 4" of water. I’ll stack a few smaller flat rocks in the back of the bucket in order to hold the bucket down and the stacked rocks will also serve as a shelf for the bait. I use salted carp chunks. Put he bait on the shelf and cover it with a few leaves or lightly with some grass blades. Give the shelf a sot of fish oil or shell fish oil. Set the trap over the opening of the bucket. Cover the set bucket with sticks dirt leaves etc. to make it look like just a hollow or a small drift pile. Also break up the entrence of the bucket some with the same material. I will paint my buckets some also the help camo them some. I will also drill a hole in the collar of the bucket and run a cable thru it so i can attach a piece of tie off wire so if the water does come way up i won’t loose my bucket (litter) My 2 cent’s.
Both of these ideas are great
I was afraid to ask the question but I see potential in both
Seems it be a good mink set also
Thanks for the replies
