I’m seeing more and more Facebook posts

Of people trapping all summer. This was unheard of just a few short years ago. There’s no consideration that they’re trapping FURBEARERS at a time of no fur value. This is slowly, ever so slowly, becoming acceptable. I don’t like it but can’t do anything but watch it happen.

And I’m not talking about legitimate nuisance operators.

I ve tried to post something a couple times and each time I delete it cause this upsets me a lot
Game Laws is my first reaction
Why aren’t these people being cited

I’ll be the first to say if you have a nuisance critter around your home or Farm is one thing but to blatantly break the Law and brag about it
They need cited and fined heavily
I’ll get off my Rant

Most of them are in states it’s “ legal” to trap year round. Occasionally I’ll see some violations in Kentucky. I don’t think a lot of them are truly nuisance problem situations. It’s just people that are out summer time trapping and posting pics. It tells you they’re not concerned with waiting until cold weather and fur put up. But they’re “trappers”. They telling themselves they’re protecting game animals and birds by summertime trapping. I guess maybe so, sometimes. I just don’t like furbearers being classified as simply excess varmints to be killed any time.

Just know I agree with you

It is heartbreaking to see something like this when it means so much to us true trappers.
