Yesterday my wife and I was out coyote hunting and seen some nice tom tracks. This was the third time in the past couple of months we have seen them on this farm. I told her I may try and go after him. Well, she said she wanted to try and trap him. She already had her license from when we snared some beaver together early last month. I told her to go for it.
Today she made six sets. I did help cut the trap beds- luckily I decided to take the pick mattock and some safety glasses, boy it was rough.
She made four dirt hole sets, a trash pile set, and some kind cubby hybrid.
I was amazed at how well she did from just the few times she has watched me. I loved watching her, especially her reactions to sniff testing the lures. Dang it was funny when she cracked open the fresh gusto.
I’m not sure who is more excited for in the morning, her or me. Hopefully this cat doesn’t pull the two week card on her, but sometimes it makes it a little more rewarding. I would’ve never in a million years thought she would be doing such things- once a big city girl.
Thats great stuff right there! My wife has gone with me to check, but never has she made any sets on her own. Nothing like the smell of “Gusto” or “Skunk Junk”!
I had a buddy of mine several years ago that put a couple coon carcasses in the bed of my truck. I returned the favor by putting some Skunk Junk on his muffler!
