New trapping/skinning/woodworking shed!

They say you can’t have too many!

Judging the size of your shed from the pictures, I’d say you need at least that many! Oh, and about 3 or 4 of the round light boxes for ceiling fans/ overhead lights! I bet it will be sweet when you get it finished!

Possum Palace and yes plenty of plugins

You need a sign that says “ Second Best World Champion ‘Possum Trapper”. Or either “ World Champion ‘Possum Skinner”.

Looks good, if you don’t already plan on putting some outlets in the loft put in a couple, you can thank me later, I learned the hard way and its much easier to put them in an empty building than after everything is insulated and sheeted. I was planning on building me a shop/equipment shed but then materials went stupid and I am in a holding pattern right now. I’m sure you will get a lot of good use out of it.

Thanks. I do have them all over the ceiling. I am going to use the plug in led lights. Thanks for the tip and any other tips are appreciated!

What kind of skinning machine are you going to use?

Not sure. What works best on possum? lol

Pictures of everyone’s skinning machines would be neat and helpful!

I have a very “poor man” skinning machine consisting of one 12 ft. 4x4 standing upright to near the ridge comb of my building. Stop it is mounted a boat trailer roller. I have a winch one side of post and the gambrel is on the other side. Chain and Vice grip to floor. I only use it for coyote and otter.

It’s not much but this is what I came up with for my skinning machine.

That’s a nice setup. I like the metal siding. How tall is the winch?

It’s 11’ which gives plenty of room for coyotes.

It’s 10 foot from top of winch to bottom of the vice grips, actually have about 9 feet of pulling room,I plan on building a horizontal puller so it will fit in this room

That room is actually 14 ft wide so I’ll have plenty of room

That’s why I had to go to middle of building of ridge comb.
Those coyotes take a lot of room. I wont be skinning but very few in the future.

Here is mine that I built a few years ago. It bolts to one of the poles in my shop, I didn’t want to drill the floor. .

Good Looking set up. I built one years ago but dont use it much. Mine is not tall enough so after getting the flanks down where I can clamp up and working off the midsection to the shoulders, I have to lower and unclamp and just finish by hand. I really was only skinning the middle of the coyote with the skinner and found I could just do it faster by hand. When I build a shop, there will definitely be one built taller and with a better winch.
