These guys are never charged to set up at any UTK meet. We appreciate them loading up, driving to come to the meets, unloading, staying through the meet, loading back up, driving home and unloading. They make the meets. Don’t forget to support the food vendor as well. He really never knows how many to expect and his food is not like traps, swivels and stretchers, it’s just good for the meet. He can’t load it up and sell it next month at the next meet. Anyone thinking of tailgating please come set up. Never any charge. We just like to see you there.

Several of the old regulars I’ve heard say the same thing. They try to hit every dealer. Really, I can’t imagine, as much as I love trapping, hitting 5-10 meets every year all over the country, driving and handling everything everything four times. It makes you wonder why we trappers can’t even make one meet right in our own state.

I usually try to support each one as well. After pulling this fall meet together and talking with each vendor (some multiple times) I have a different level of understanding and respect for those guys. It ain’t easy and you know they ain’t getting rich….they are just trappers like us.
