Seeing and hearing about more grey fox

I was sent a pic of two greys on a trail cam this morning. I think that’s the first time I’ve seen two in one pic alive or caught in years. I hope they’re fighting back. The taking of more coons and coyotes would have to help them.

Also seeing a lot of what was an exotic, rarely seen animal, as an early or first time catch. There truly are more bobcats in a lot of places than fox now.

I had 3 trail cameras out while deer season was in and had 1 pic of a grey fox. Also, had a pair of coyotes that would come through every week or so. It’ll be next year before I get to set the first trap.

2 years ago I had a picture of 2 greys on trail camera. I caught one and still have the other one around here. I’ll dig for the trail cam pictures and see if I can find it and post it

The craziest thing I’ve seen, I have a Save A Lot store about a mile from the house, there’s a bout half an acre of brush behind it and then there’s the subdivision we live in, in the past month or so I’ve seen 3 gray fox dead on the road all within a few feet of each other, all smashed beyond saving unfortunately. I haven’t seen a gray fox in probably 15 years before those.

I think they’ve definitely “ moved to town” away from coyotes.

I caught 2 greys last year.First Ive seen in 2 or 3 years

I saw a red fox with in city limits the other day

I think on my next order somewhere I’m going to get a jar of grey fox gland just so I can reminisce.

I believe any fox, grey or red that I catch this year will get the CPR treatment. Catch, Photo, Release. No more than we have aound here and no more than they’re worth I hate taking them.
