Well it’s a long but good story,I tell the whole thing later but, we grunted him up she layed it across that stump like she’s been Killin um for 30 years latchet er back and dropped the hammer. All I did was remind her to put it behind his shoulder and squeeze it off.
I knew he was hit good when she touched it off. I hushed her up she was gote up I thank she thought she missed it. We watched him disappear up the hill into the tangle and I could hear he was starting to waver I told her to listen and he crashed and she said daddy he’s shaking them trees I said yeah he just crashed.
She was a happy hunter. She’s layed with it pretty good to complaining,no being cold or tired we hunted in a pretty bad rain she stuck it out and layed with it. No corn no blind just woods and sign.
I shore am proud she was calm cool and collect…until she shot!

Well there actually allot more to the story, so daddy has been having allot of trouble with his knees and legs and lower back. Are season has been tough no sign hot little deer movement and we keep loosing ground to boot. Anyhow so last night Chloe had valley ball stuff going at school so she didn’t hunt I went with Daddy who had been at the hospital all day with his momma and he finally got her settled with his sister and was able to come on home to hunt. Anyhow I was going up to the head of the holler and he was gonna hunt a lower trail.
Well he was navigating a fall with his bum knees and his rifle slipped off his shoulder and fell down in the hole he just came out of and broke the but stick off at the wrist his favorite 30/30 just like.mine a little newer and with a nicer walnut stock well I watched and couldn’t believe it I had no words. He was almost in tears. But I talked him into going with me and using my gun as we would most likely see a buck anyhow if we saw eny thang.
So we hunted together and killed nothing, he wanted to hunt this morning but needed to fix and re zero his rifle so I told him to just take mine. Well about 945 this morning he sent me a picture of a handsome 6 point he killed with my rifle and this eaving Chloe killed her first with it. I told him them was the “broken stock bucks” it was a good day with some good meat put away!

It will cut the same hole when I do my part.
Congratulations young lady.
Congratulations to both you and her!!!
Congratulations and some fine eating
Awesome! Good deer, good memories and quality time with your daughter. Your a good dad Colt, enjoy it as long as you can, she’ll be grown, married and out of the house before you know it. I dont get to hunt with my son much anymore but when I do I get flooded with the memories of days such as this. Congratulations
My daughter had another milestone yesterday, she shot a big fat doe which was neat but she has killed several. The milestone was she skinned it and gutted this one by herself which was a first. If we don’t teach them they won’t know and we won’t be around forever to do it for them. That’s the thing with this group, I see a lot of teaching going on!
