Teaching Livestock Owners how to Manage Predators

Yesterday we got to do some predator management demos for the Southeast Kentucky Sheep Producers Association in Madison County. Good time, great weather and the lamb burgers were EXCELLENT!

Mr. White explaining predator hunting techniques.

Mr. Grooms demonstrating snaring techniques.

Mr. White again on bobcat trapping.

Had many people tell me it was extremely informative and not at all what they expected. It was a good day!

Weez, you are spot on about it being a very receptive group, I guess it is different when you truly have a vested interest in getting it right. That was the first time I had ever had a lamb burger and it was really good as well.

As usual Weez is being overly modest, he knocked it out of the park with his coyote trapping with footholds presentation as well.

Good job UTK guys. Long drive for Weez to do these.

I hope we get back to the times everyone had a few traps hanging in sheds and took care of their own problems from time to time. These people also realize and recognize good trappers and welcome them with permission.
