I agree! Weez and his Family knocked it out of the Park! Demos were all great, and the vendors were top notch too!

I appreciate all ya’ll driving down this far and supporting me, it was fun. Really gets the trapping fever ramped up being around all the piles of traps, the faint smell of skunk in the air and just being around like minded people.

Mrs. Weez (Marcie) was a workhorse. I didn’t see anyone with her but Weez. She also helped her brother and sister in law serve lunch both days besides her doing supper both days. She also stayed putting up chairs and tables while Wesley took Bill Duke to the airport.

Yep! She was a whirlwind of energy , and determination !
I think weez chose well when he decided to marry her!

The deer meat on Friday night was the best deer I’ve ever put in my mouth. You ought to put that recipe out for everyone.

Well, that’s pretty easy to do since it isn’t much of a recipe.
Take a nice trimmed (none of the white shiny stuff whatever it is called) piece of tenderloin or backstrap
Poke a million holes in it with a fork or whack it with a meat tenderizing hammer (I prefer the fork method)
Soak in Allegro Hot and Spicy Marinade overnight
Wrap in bacon and throw it on the grill for 8 minutes each side.
May have to increase the time for super big does or buck tenderloin, that’s it.

If you cook it till it is a gray “cooked meat” color all the way through, you cooked it too long. It needs to have a slight pink color in the middle. Deer goes from perfect, to overcooked in a hurry. If someone says the don’t like deer because of the “wild” or “gamey” taste, they have just never had it cared for and cooked properly in my opinion, but maybe my tastebuds are accustomed to it and don’t notice it.

I feel the same way you do weez.
Deer cared for and cooked right beats ALL farmed meat in my opinion
At the very most I want it pink like you said but I really like them just browed on each side, still bawling is fine with me!
Thanks for sharing your deer with us.
