How many have gone on the line with a UTK member you never might have met? I’ve rode along with a few and it’s enjoyable,

I haven’t, but wouldn’t be against the idea of it. Besides two of my non trapping buddys that ride along periodically, I’m always solo. Their both avid hunters and outdoorsman, just not trappers themselves. Their all about riding along for the check, but not for the fur shed hours. But i dont mind the company. One of them gets me as much permission ground as I find for myself.

Im mot sure if its me being selfish, paranoid, or just a little competitive. But I don’t want another trapper from my area seeing what or how I do things. Not that im doing anything special, illegal or any different than they are. And I know its 100% wrong of me to feel that way and hopefully I’ll out grow it. And in all honesty they would probably help me more than anything.
At the same time, I dont mind doing a demos or helping kids get started.
Weird I guess.

I have not road with as many or had as many ride with me as Id like too, time mostly not because there’s not guys to go with,but I would have not had the opportunities to do so without this organization.
I’m a loner mostly beside Chloe and daddy (who rarely goes) I partner trapped full time after highschool out of necessity and learned I didn’t care for it.

I’ve been messed over many times by locals between hunting fishing and trapping it’s grown a paranoia in about them.
Like you I don’t mind doing demos and writing and such.

I’ve road with Dave once and definitely would ride again. I learned a lot from him and just enjoyed conversations about trapping that you can’t have with non trapping people.

I have 2 members that rides along from time to time one of them just became a member back in the fall other than that I ride alone
I understand completely on that. I’ve had some bad experiences trying to help locals out. Everything from trying to take my permissions and setting their traps right in my trap bed to theft.
I was talking more about someone an hour or two away.
I’ve done that and learned a lot myself.

I have not but think it would be good time and a learning experience for me. I have friends, kids and other non- trappers from time to time. Sometime shortly after Christmas when I get a bunch of stuff out I am supposed to take a guy and his little boy

I have been out with Bear Wallow a couple of times, and I have to say the Man is a hustler! I used to run with his buddy , ol’ Buckeye back in the day when we were young, and he was a fox trapping machine back then, and no slouch on coyotes and cats now! I have been on the line with guys that are low profile, but about as good as anyone, any where. I’m looking forward to taking a young man up the road a ways out on the trap line here in a few days, as he has shown some interest in it ; so we shall see how that goes. Maybe I can get him interested enough to join the UTK before long!
I would let someone a couple hours away ride along. But id want to have a decent line out so it would be more entertaining.

Mr. Leon taught me a lot about trapping plus we solved a lot of the worlds problems.
