Turkey Survey received today

I received the survey today
I’d like to point out and perhaps I missed it they ask if you hunted the different species we have
Turkey squirrels deer Etc

But not one Mention of Trapping? That upsets me

Till there looking for Praise as to how well the Department is doing

I can tell ya I mentioned In every comment section they offered
And I’m opposed to a 1 Turkey limit myself

Maybe I’m off base and tell me if I’m looking at this wrong way

I’m ok with some turkey limit if they do away with killing bearded hens in spring. I would also be open to only getting a second tag if you buy it separate “before” season opens.
I would also like to see half day hunting the first two weeks and no non residents on public land the first week at least Saturday through the first Friday.
I believe all of them measures would make are turkey hunting like it use to be all day gobbling throughout the season.
There is too many successful turkey hunters knows days between the advances in blinds, decoys and long range shotguns. Something needs to be done to take the pressure off the birds.
They still have that type of season in pa.
It’s 1 bird unless you buy a second tag “before” season opens and it’s half day hunting the first two weeks. And they gobble as hard the last week as the first in my experience!

I agree with you 100% Colt. With the advanced shells, blinds, guns, decoys, and all the info on calling, it’s pretty easy for about anyone to kill em if you have any around. The commission will never go for it, I’ve been trying to get “reaping” banned or at least limited to private lands for years. They don’t want to hear it.

Does it sound like they want to go to a one bird limit? I haven’t seen the survey. I agree with you guys. The problem with the spotty turkey population is not, in my opinion, all nest predators as some tend to latch onto.

Colt that depends. Here in our area, it is a honor for an amish boy to get sent out to roost a flock of birds. Then they shot them before daylight, too fill tags. Pass around any extra birds to people who did not succeed. As desperation sets in[season closing] they like to slowly drive them to people waiting down woods. No sport just fill tags!!! Like fishing if it bites EAT IT. Size doesnot matter.

TOO MANY COONS & POSSUMS up here, really hard on nesting birds.
