I had a big bag of crunch proof swivels on a shelf in the building. Just sitting there serving no purpose. I added one in all my bigger traps, #3Bridger and big beaver traps. At least now I’m not just saving them for no reason. I don’t anticipate buying any more new traps to rig up and I still have a few dozen swivels left if I need them. I have similar things with lure and lure ingredients. Use it! Don’t save it for someday. I have a hundred “someday” bottles of lure. Anyone else hoard trapping stuff in this way? I’m quitting it. Don’t have a lot of years left to use it anyway.
I use to buy thangs have got so high someday has come and I’ve used allot of it up.
I’ve definitely got more stuff than I need. I’m a trap junky…I admit it!
It’s funny how fast you can accumulate stuff. I went for years with just a dozen of the old 1.75 victors, and 6 or 7 of the victor 1 1/2 long springs, and that was it.
Then, about the time I got the kids raised, I started treating myself to an extra trap or two, here and there.
Next thing I knew, I had quite a few! I’m like you, in that I am going to be parring back on a few traps, and maybe a little gear in the coming year. After being in the Hospital, and sitting around most of late Summer and early Fall, and then having to deal with Dads junk hole after he passed away, I got to thinking about how I didn’t want to leave a bunch of stuff for my Kids to have to deal with if I go belly up in the next couple of years or so! So I think I’m going to cut way back, and only keep stuff that I really like, or that does a good job for me in the future!
The rest may very well show up on the UTK Auction Table, or the trade tables.
