Tilled the garden out again today, and planted some sweet corn.
About dark the Whippoorwills started calling, so I count that as a good sign! If we get some rain now, it should get off to a good start. " I Hope!"

I have taters kale cabbage collards onions lettuce and garlic out but it’s too early for me for corn and beans. I know you can get away with it but we have a really heavy clay based soil and a cool wet spell will kill beans and corn quick.

We have the same thing here! Corn and beans best be tough if they are going to make it here! It’s about impossible to ever get the soil just perfect for planting here! If I ever throw in the towel on gardening, I think I will start making bricks, and just buy my produce from the Amish! LOL!
