Why I long chain traps

I like rebar in sandy and muddy river banks most places it’s easy in easy out and in clay it’s allot easier in easier out.
But if you don’t use a long enough chain they can and will pump them out.
Hear is a short video of a stake I got down between some rocks on a cliff line in a pile of dirt that was behind a long. It held 2 big boar coon and was barely there.

I have a pile of 3/8 rebar. That’d be a good way to use it up.

Oh it makes nice stakes very light and just as good as 1/2",goes in and come out easier too.

I have some 3N’s with three feet of chain I usually use with drags for cats but I’ve caught staked yotes with them. Except for the big circle it seems to work ok. A man might get by with a single stake 1/2 inch stake in a lot of places.

Locklear was catching yotes with long chain and 30" portable pockets as a one unit rig.

it seems that with long chains they dont fight traps hard been using long chains for years

A heavy trap and a long chain wear animals down.
