You know honestly when I take off my clothes people can’t smell skunk on me cause I ask.
I’ve got my method down where I’m pretty clean. I had one spray over my shoulder I mean I made 1 step and watched it fly over my right shoulder and went to the nabors for supper that night and nobody new nothing. The whole area was rank in a fine mist of spray.

I’d have to go with cats and beaver are first. I like doing skunks cause the are a pretty hide when done and for coyotes I don’t mind doing them but I swear some of them stink worst than a skunk.
My favorite would be cats I guess, then beaver and coyote. The very bottom of my list is otter…I hate fleshing them fishy smelling things. Don’t know why, they are not that difficult, just don’t like them
I guess I like putting up coons better than any thing. They skin pretty easy, and the fleshing always goes pretty smooth. I cant say I like it well enough to put a bunch up for free, but I’ll do it for a few bucks. Otter are the most trouble for me, I have a hide thawing now to put on the board tonight. Coyotes are the stinkinest, they are much worse than skunks. I am yet to skin a 'possom, something about them just repels me, I don’t even like to touch one.
I have respect for anyone that can put up nice possum pelts. They were my main quarry first couple of years I trapped. They have an offensive smell to me now.
Possums do have that bad smell to them and are hard to keep from ripping them when fleshing but the worst smell is when you puncher the gland on a mink makes me gag
